In Anambra, Co-workers seek whereabouts of missing Chinese and three Nigerians

On December 3, 2023, three Nigerians and two unidentified Chinese expats were reported missing while traveling on business from Onitsha, Anambra State, to Aba, Abia State. Their coworkers have stated that efforts are still being made to find them.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, the victims were last seen driving a white SUV with the license plate KSF-456-HD.

“A group of five individuals—two Chinese and three Nigerians—who were traveling from Onitsha to Aba on business have not been seen since December 3, 2023, and all attempts to locate them have been unsuccessful:

The car they were driving was a white 4Runner SUV with the license plate KSF456HD (see the above car picture). We are asking for assistance from the general public in our hunt for the car and its occupants. The notice stated that there would be a substantial reward for anyone who could provide accurate information regarding their whereabouts.

On the phone on Wednesday, one of their associates, who went by the name Saheed, said that this was not their first visit to the area.

They have visited that there before, he said. Here in Nigeria, there are no Chinese residents. Their sole purpose in visiting is to do their business survey, network with partners and customers, and then depart.

An additional coworker, Ben, went by the name Ben and stated, “The foreigners came on November 19 and left two weeks later. That day marked our last communication with them, and it was the last time we heard from them. We tried calling every number in the car, but none of them answered. We promptly reported to the police stations in Aba and Onitsha in this manner. So yet, we have not received any calls from anyone. For about two weeks, they were in Onitsha.

Calls to Ikenga Tochukwu, the public relations officer for the Anambra State Police, went unanswered, making it impossible to get in touch with him. As of the filing of this report, he had not responded to a text message.
