785 beneficiaries of the Nigerian Police Force’s Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme package received checks from the IGP at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The families of police officers who passed away while on duty during the previous five years have received checks totaling N2.08 billion from Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
At the Nigerian Police Force’s Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme package headquarters in Abuja, he distributed checks to 785 beneficiaries.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force spokesman, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

In total, 2,533 insurance claims of deceased police personnel have been settled by the Nigeria Police Force through the Force Insurance Office. The claims total Six Billion, Thirteen Million, Forty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty-Six Naira, Fifty-One Kobo (N6,013,043,326.51k) between June 2023 and the present.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, was praised by the Inspector General of Police for prioritizing police welfare and for ensuring the prudent release of premiums for deceased Nigeria Police Force officers. In a similar vein, he underlined how determined his administration is to continue its efforts to guarantee that insurance proceeds and other welfare benefits are given to recipients on time.
