Igbokwe Expresses Frustration Over Continuous Demolition of Igbo Homes in Lagos

Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has bemoaned the ongoing destruction of Ndigbo mansions in Lagos State.

Igbokwe claimed in a post on his official Facebook page that he has gotten a lot of calls from Igbo people complaining about state government personnel demolishing their homes.

“For hours on end, hundreds of Igbo people in Lagos have called me to lament the loss of their homes. I am under constant pressure on this issue,” Igbokwe remarked.

He claims that “having been in Lagos for over 40 years, I know their humongous investment of Igbo in Lagos” and that Igbo people play a significant role in the development of Lagos.

I’m under siege. I’m weary. I am worn out. I’m choking. I am weakened. I’m frail. Every day, I’m under pressure. This is a significant issue, and I want a solution.

“I want to build understanding bridges.” I aim to build bridges amongst people. I want Lagos to be quiet. He declared, “I want a fresh agreement with the Yorubas and Igbo in Lagos.

Babjide San-wolu, the state governor, was urged by the APC leader to “look into the matter and find an amicable solution to the problem.”
