Reactions to General Ibrahim Babamosi Babangida’s (IBB) allegations have seen children of the late Military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, stand up for him.
According to reports, the late General Abacha canceled the June 12, 1993, presidential election without his consent, according to General Babangida’s book, “A Journey In Service.”
Because of the controversy surrounding the book that was released on Thursday, Abacha’s children, Sadiq Sani Abacha and Gumsu Sani Abacha, have resorted to social media to praise the late General.
His critics secretly admired his father, according to his son Sadiq. The late head of state was a better leader, he added, and history will remember that.
They have always secretly envied you, Abacha, the man. As much as they may try to discredit you, history will remember you for being a superior leader. Today, I am most proud of you as a son. According to his writing, “They wish they were half of you.”
He ended by quoting the Hausa saying, “Duk wanda yayi jifa a kasuwa,” which translates to “whoever throws a stone in the market…”
Gumsu, her daughter, continued to repost tweets on 𝕏 by defending her father’s interests.

In one of these tweets, former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani expressed remorse that the late general had not had a chance to respond to the accusations made by IBB because he was no longer alive.
Senator Sani wrote, “Sadly, Abacha is not here to give his own version of events.”
