On Monday, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule publicly courted Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the release of a book titled “Fintiri, the Man They Could Not Stop.” This created some minor political drama.
Speaking at the function, Governor Sule stated that if Fintiri decides to leave the opposition and join the APC, he has a “Tinubu infinity cap” ready.
Sule claimed that Fintiri’s conduct and ideals are consistent with the APC in what seemed to be a combination of lighthearted persuasion and political outreach.
“The APC is present in your DNA,” Sule stated. We’re on the same page with you. I have packed a Tinubu’s infinity cap in case you’re thinking of joining the APC.”
He further mentioned APC’s recent strategic political actions throughout numerous states.
The Nasarawa Governor further remarked, “Your Excellency, the governor, you have seen us going to Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Kano, Plateau, and Taraba States. And who knows, maybe I’ll embark on this adventure.
On a more serious note, Governor Sule reflected on the difficulties of leadership, especially in a second term, asking Fintiri to stay focused on meaningful government.
“As a governor in my second term, I understand the weight of leadership. I understand the loneliness of decision-making, and I understand the fortitude it takes to govern with conviction and pressure.
“Leadership is not about popularity at all costs. It is about clarity of purpose, consistency in service, patience, and fear of God,” he said.
