Suspected gunmen are said to have killed two people on the Tsokundi expressway in Taraba state’s Wukari council.
According to The Guardian, the incident, which occurred around 12 p.m. on Tuesday, heightened tension in a neighborhood already plagued by violent crime.

Aside from the recent development, several bandit attacks have been reported in the council and other parts of the state.
The travellers were killed on their way from Wukari town to Tsokundi village, according to the council chairman, Dr. Daniel Adigrace.
He said the victims were traveling on a motorbike when they were ambushed.
He charged the security operatives to arrest and prosecute the attackers who have been terrorising the community.

Adigrace called for urgent stakeholders meeting, which he said would help to address the security challenges in the council.
He also requested additional security operatives in the area.
