Salisu Maki, a journalist from Nasarawa state who worked for the state-owned media Nasarawa Broadcasting Service in Lafia town, was kidnapped by gunmen.
On Tuesday, nine gunmen stormed Maki’s home, shooting sporadically into the air to frighten people away while kidnapping the victim.

Eyewitnesses said the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Akurba road in the Lafia local government area of Nasarawa State, as the victim had just returned from work.
“He was kidnapped after arriving at his house from the office where he worked the night shift,” one of Maki’s neighbors said.
“When the man returned home after working hours, the gunmen stormed the compound, opened fire, and took him away,” an eyewitness said.

Raham Nansel, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
According to the spokesperson, Adesina Soyemi, the Commissioner of Police, has dispatched various police formations in search of the group in order to save the victim.
