Gunmen are said to have killed a Vigilante Commander outside the license office on Okpe Road in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State.
Lucky Victor, also known as Asikolo, was the area’s Zone 2 Vigilante Commander when he died.
According to reports, the gunmen followed him in a numberless tinted Sienna and shot him in his own Sienna car till he died.

Voke Ubuara, the Delta State Public Relations Officer for the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, expressed regret over the event.
He claimed that criminals in the town had found it impossible to use the waterways under Asikolo’s jurisdiction for the previous six to seven years.
“Before, when criminals operate in the town, the waterway was an easy escape route, but Asikolo when he assumed office became a stumbling block to that arrangement.
“We will partner with the police to see how we can fish out his killers,” he added.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident.
He said an investigation was ongoing and that the criminals will be brought to book.
