Gunmen have kidnapped Ugoeze Umugborogu’s wife, the wife of the Amuro autonomous community’s traditional leader in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
The homes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) chairs in the Amuro ward were also set on fire by gunmen.
Residents of the impacted neighborhood have fled their homes as a result of the development.
According to a source who spoke to Punch under the condition of anonymity, the attackers started setting the houses on fire as soon as they got to the compounds.

The local Labour Party chairman and his family were reportedly not home when the shooters opened fire.
Adding that things are getting out of hand, he pleaded with the state government to save them.
According to the source, Ugoeze Umugborogu, the late king of the Amuro autonomous community’s wife, has been abducted.
“After taking the woman hostage, they destroyed Ifediora Umegboroagu’s home, the chairman of the Labour Party in the Amuro ward. When they struck, the man and his family were away.

“They also demolished the ward’s APC chairman’s home. It’s getting out of control now. The government ought to step in and help us.
