Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has commissioned 22 state government projects in southern Borno.

Thirteen newly created and rehabilitated secondary and elementary schools; six primary healthcare centers; and three municipal structures, including two police stations, a government lodge, and a commercial complex, are among the newly commissioned projects.

In southern Borno, the 22 projects are located in the villages and towns of Hawul, Shani, Bayo, and Kwaya Kusar Local Government Areas.

In addition, the Governor visited palaces that had been finished and distributed to several district and ward chiefs.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Kwayakusar Local Government commissioned a freshly built mega-sized Government Day Technical Secondary School in Wuyo, Bayo Local Government Area. In the same LGA, he also commissioned three more projects.

“My administration seeks to foster the mix of learning and vocational training, to enable pupils to gain entrepreneurship skills,” Zulum remarked while at the Day Technical Secondary Schools.

Following the commissioning, the Governor distributed 300 bicycles to students from surrounding communities to help with mobility.

Aside from the day school, Zulum, also in Bayo LGA, commissioned two new Distinct Heads palaces in Biryel and Wuyo, the LGA’s second and third projects, respectively.

The palaces, he said, will help civil agencies operate more efficiently.

Zulum also ordered that mosques be built for both palaces by the minister of religious affairs.

Zulum pledged support for roughly 200 beneficiaries during the commissioning, which was co-sponsored by the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Haruna Hassan Tela, and Hon. Salisu Ibrahim, a board member of the Borno State Housing Cooperation.

In Yimir Dalang, also in Kwaya Kusar, Governor Zulum dedicated a newly constructed Government Secondary School. The school contains 20 classrooms with a total capacity of 1,000 students, as well as four blocks of staff apartments with one and two beds.

The State Government restored and built two-story blocks of classrooms for the commissioning of one of the five projects, a secondary school owned by community members in Sakwa East, and Governor Zulum also gave N10 million.

The grant, according to the Governor, is for community members to operate the school’s day-to-day operations, which are funded by the community.

Zulum also built Kinging Central Primary School, which serves a Hawul village.

Later, the Governor dedicated freshly constructed classrooms in Yimirshika, as well as school uniforms, textbooks, and 300 bicycles to kids who walk miles to villages.
