The Board for the Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement has been reconstituted with the approval of Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State.
The existing chairman and board members have completed their four-year terms, and the decision comes after their terms have ended.
Dauda Iliya, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, stated that Section 4(1) of the Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement and Other Related Laws gives the governor the authority to reorganize the Board.
“For the proper operation of the Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement, His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reconstituted a new Board after the Chairman and Members of the Board have served their statutory four-year term.”

The newly formed Board is tasked with ensuring the Bureau operates effectively and efficiently, the statement continues.
The Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development is the new board’s chairman.
Among the other members of the Board were the Attorney General, the Commissioner for Justice, the Secretary of the State Government’s representative, and the Head of Service.
Alhaji Abba Kaka Alibe (Borno Central) Member, Allawan Maina Saleh (Borno Central) Member, Alhaji Idriss Mai Jalo (Borno South) Member, Mr. Kingo K. Yanga (Borno South) – Member, Barr. Mele Waruma (Borno North) – Member, Alhaji Aliyu Kyari (Borno North) – Member, Representative of Civil Society Organizations – Member, Representative of Professional Body – Member – Member.
The Bureau for Public Procurement’s Director General will act as Secretary.
Confirmation of the State Assembly is required for the appointment.
