Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Governor of Kwara State, on Wednesday submitted the report of the APC’s Direct Primary held on Saturday to elect the party’s governorship candidate for the July 16, 2022 election.
At the APC’s National Secretariat, Governor Abdulrazaq presented the report to Hon. Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe State Governor, who was represented by the CECPC National Secretary, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe. Buni, Governor
‘In Osun, the APC is alive and well.’
Governor Abdulrazaq stated in his report that the APC and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration were alive, strong, and popular in Osun State, as evidenced by the massive and peaceful voter turnout for the state’s Direct Primary Election.
“Having been appointed to conduct this exercise on behalf of the APC, the Primary Election Committee considered it a privilege.”
Seeing the press and social media reports on the events in Osun before and during our appointment, we saw it as a huge challenge.
“I’m glad I had strong support from my team as Chairman of the Committee, and they were up for the challenge.” It appeared to be a walk in the park, but there was a lot of work involved. We are pleased that we were able to conduct a credible election that satisfied all stakeholders and the people of Osun.

“I must inform the party that the APC is still alive and well in Osun,” he said. The Governor is doing exceptionally well, as is the party. Aregbesola has done well, and Oyetola has surpassed expectations.
“The road infrastructure is excellent. We saw bridges being built, schools being built, and human capital being developed. In addition, I inquired about FAAC allocations. There used to be a monthly deduction of around N2.4 billion. This has decreased as well, to just over N1 billion per month. The State government has repaid another 70 billion in loans.
“So the state is on the right track, and the primary election result demonstrated that the government is in touch with the people.” I strongly encourage Nigerians to travel to Osun State. It is, without a doubt, Nigeria’s most peaceful state, second only to Kwara.” Governor Abdulrazaq made the following statement.
Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, CECPC National Secretary, thanked the Committee for taking on the task on behalf of the Party.
“I accept this report on behalf of His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, National Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee. He has asked me to express his gratitude to you (Governor Abdulrazaq) for your humility in agreeing to relinquish your responsibilities in Kwara state in order to serve the party.
“We are truly grateful and thankful. We’ve heard and read that Your Excellency, as well as the entire committee, did an outstanding job representing the party.
“Your Excellency’s character is the result of a proper and classical upbringing. This is something you’ve demonstrated in your state’s administration and the task you’ve taken on behalf of the party in Osun State.
