On Thursday, Femi Gbajabiamila, the current Speaker of the House of Representatives, addressed rumours that he had been appointed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chief of staff.
Since February 25, when Tinubu was declared the election’s winner, Gbajabiamila has been associated with the speakership contest.
After several hours of discussions and consultations, the president reportedly chose Gbajabiamila, according to reports that surfaced earlier on Thursday.
On Thursday, Gbajabiamila told reporters that people should let the system work after meeting with Senate President Ahmad Lawan and President Tinubu.
“Be patient; the system functions in its own way. He was asked why his widely publicised appointment had not been made official amid congrats, to which he replied, “Let’s let the system work.
