Dr Abubakar Mamuda has been appointed as the new Registrar of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Yobe, by the Governing Council of the university.
Other principal officers were also appointed by the Council to fill the school’s vacancies.
Mohammed Ahmed Ali, Bursar, and Dr Adam Saleh, Librarian, have been appointed, according to Malam Adamu Saleh, Head of Information and Protocol Unit.
Director of Works and Physical Planning, Engr. Ahmed Adamu Janga, has been appointed.

All of the appointments, according to the statement, will take effect on the date the appointees begin their duties.
Each of the appointees will serve for a five-year term, according to Saleh.
The appointments were made following consideration of the report and recommendations of the institution’s Joint Council/Senate Selection Board at the Council’s Extra-Ordinary Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, according to the statement.
“The appointments were approved by the Council in accordance with the powers granted to it by Chapter 9 (1) of the University Establishment Act, 2020.”
