Alhaji Mohammed Sani Sidi, the former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sidi announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday at the PDP Kaduna central senatorial office.
“There is no place like home, and I am back home for good,” he told the throngs of supporters who stormed the party office.
Sidi, a former APC gubernatorial candidate, advised PDP members at all levels to unite and close ranks in order for the party to advance at the local, state, and federal levels.
He said he is still consulting with party stakeholders, chieftains, and loyalists about his gubernatorial ambition and will announce his intention soon.

“It’s not a rumor anymore; I’ve just declared my ambition in my ward.” PDP has accepted me as a member. I’ve just returned home from my party. On my ambition, we are consulting with stakeholders. “The PDP’s leaders and stakeholders must unite; otherwise, we will fail.” For our party to progress and forge ahead, we as politicians and members of the PDP must come together and unite,” he said.
Prof. Dogara Mato, former Commissioner for Science and Technology, and Barr. M. Aliyu, former PDP Zonal Secretary, were among those who accompanied him to the secretariat.
