A group of renowned Nigerians will convene in Abuja on August 5 to examine the reality and fiction of an indivisible and unified Nigeria during a one-day public lecture, amidst agitations for secession by some sectors of the country.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje will make a keynote speech at the APC Press Corps event titled “Towards Ensuring an Enduring Democracy.”

Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Senator Peter Nwaboshi, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu, and Ekiti Central Senator Opeyemi Bamidele are among a five-man panel of eminent Nigerians who will debate the paper.
Mr. Babatunde Ayeni, Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, said in a statement released yesterday in Abuja that the lecture is aimed at contributing to the intellectual growth of the nation’s democracy.
