President Muhammadu Buhari and members of his delegation have been placed in isolation after returning from a two-week trip to London, United Kingdom.
This measure could be linked to media reports that President Buhari and some members of his delegation were seen in close contact with officials from the Nigerian High Commission in London who tested positive for coronavirus upon arrival at the airport.
According to ChannelsTV, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made the announcement on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Shehu explained that the decision was made in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) international travel guidelines.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Munguno were among the members of the President’s delegation to the United Kingdom (retired).

He returned to the country just a day ago after being gone for nearly 19 days.

The Nigerian High Commission in London has announced that it will be closed for ten days to allow those in contact with its officials who have tested positive for Covid-19 to be isolated.
