The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have formally landed in Cairo, Egypt, in preparation for the much-anticipated Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations in 2025.
The Flying Eagles, who have nine officials and 24 players, are led by head coach Aliyu Zubairu, who will guide the team as they attempt to win a record-tying eighth championship in this competition.
The Jewel Sports City and Aqua Resort, where the Flying Eagles have taken up residence since their arrival, is expected to furnish them with the comforts and conveniences they need to meet the difficulties that lie ahead.

Zubairu will evaluate the players’ preparedness and adjust their tactics for the match during the team’s first official training session later tonight.
The competition will be held in Egypt at a number of locations from April 27 and May 18, 2025. Nigeria’s first game against Tunisia is set for Thursday, May 1, at Cairo’s Military Stadium.
Kenya and Morocco will be formidable opponents for the Nigerian Flying Eagles in Group B of the Under-20 AFCON.
As part of their preparations, the Flying Eagles will also play a friendly encounter against the hosts, Egypt, at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday, April 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 PM local time (4 PM Nigerian time).
