Fire overtook the ever-busy Alaba Rago (Ram) Market in Lagos State’s Ojo neighborhood early Wednesday morning, causing chaos.
According to reports, the fire, which began about midnight, damaged property worth millions of naira.
At the time of filing this report, it was impossible to determine whether the fire was caused immediately or remotely.

Meanwhile, officers from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), and other responders were working to extinguish the raging fire.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osayintolu, and the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that the situation had been brought under control to prevent it from spreading to additional homes.
