FG looking into cancellation of 264 Nigerian visas in Jeddah

On Monday, the Federal Government announced that it was looking into the revocation of 264 Nigerian travelers’ visas in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, the passengers from Lagos and Kano were evacuated to Jeddah.

The plane departed on Sunday night from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, traveled via Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, and touched down at King Abdul-Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

To the airline employees’ dismay, however, the Saudi authorities declared that the visas of every passenger had been revoked.
This occurred despite the fact that the travelers used the Advanced Passengers Information System in Nigeria for the check-in procedures, which were also observed by Saudi officials.
But according to a statement from AlKasim Abdulkadir, the minister’s media assistant, the ministry is currently looking into the situation to see if any aviation or consular regulations have been broken.

Nigeria recently took part in the Saudi-African Summit, when mutually beneficial promises were established and bilateral conversations across multiple economic sectors were held.
