Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has claimed that the federal government owes the state over N300 billion in reparations for federal roads across the state.
He bemoaned the poor state of most federal roads in the state, as well as the hardships residents, travelers, and motorists face, estimating that N13 billion would be required to repair the failed sections of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta expressway.
The governor stated that N75 billion would be required to repair the entire stretch of road when he received members of the Igbobi College Old Boys Association at his Oke Mosan office in Abeokuta.
“About N13 billion will be required to repair the failed sections of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta expressway, while N75 billion will be required to reconstruct the entire stretch of road,” says the report. “We don’t have that kind of money in our state,” he explained.
Abiodun told the association that his administration has intervened in the education, health, agriculture, road infrastructure, and information technology sectors over the last two and a half years.

He claimed that a tech hub had been established to pave the way for technological advancement.
The governor emphasized the importance of old student associations, such as the Igbobi College Old Boys Association, which includes personalities from all over the country, joining the state government in reforming education.
Sen. Lanre Tejuosho, the association’s chairman, said the group was in the state for a four-day retreat.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to get members acquainted with government officials because some of them were interested in investing in the state.
