Ethiopia intends to repatriate 100,000 Ethiopians incarcerated in Saudi Arabian detention centers.
Many of them are said to have entered the country illegally and do not have the proper documentation to work.

Ethiopia’s government established a committee to investigate the migrant’s situations.
The committee has met with stakeholders to determine how to address the situation, according to the foreign affairs ministry.
“Those returned would also be rehabilitated,” said ministry official Birtukan Ayano.
“They were enduring grave human rights violations, including a shortage of food, clean water, and health care,” the inmates said.
