EPL: Owen Hargreaves names two players who will leave Man United due to Ronaldo’s arrival

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford, former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has suggested that Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial could leave the club this summer.

After the 36-year-old announced his departure from Juventus, Manchester United confirmed Ronaldo’s sensational return to Old Trafford on Friday.

After joining Turin from Real Madrid in 2018, Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 134 appearances.

Earlier in his career, he spent six years with Manchester United, where he established himself as one of the best players in the world and a Red Devil legend.

Hargreaves, while excited by the Portuguese’s return to Old Trafford, pointed out that his arrival could result in Cavani and Martial leaving the club.

Cavani has made an impression since joining Manchester City on a free transfer last summer, but he is currently wearing Ronaldo’s number seven shirt.

“They almost have too many players with Martial, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood, so maybe someone will leave,” Hargreaves told Premier League productions.

“Could it be Cavani and Martial?” says the narrator. Someone could be seen leaving. Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo. Cavani has been fantastic for Manchester United, but Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I’m guessing Cavani will respect his desire for the number seven shirt. Perhaps Cavani will move to a club where he can play on a more regular basis. Martial would be a fantastic swap, and you’d think there’d be plenty of interest in him.
