During special operations conducted out to checkmate the violent actions of cultists in the state, the police in Ogun State said it detained about eight members of deadly cult groups.
The suspects were apprehended during brutal skirmishes that left four people dead in Abeokuta and Itori, according to Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Ogun police spokeswoman.
According to Oyeyemi, the four people killed as a result of a dominance war between members of the Aiye and Eiye cult organizations, which have recently terrorized several sections of the state.

To rein in the cultists’ excesses, Lanre Bankole, the State Commissioner of Police, is claimed to have launched a huge manhunt for any members of either organization.
As a result, all of the command’s tactical squads have initiated special operations to ferret out the hoodlums, according to the police spokesman.
Toheeb Erinoso, Sanya Ayinde, Monsuru Akindele, Olufunso Moyo, Ramon Oyetola, Adeoba Saheed, Akinyemi Olamide, and Babalola Rasaq were all arrested as a result of the raids, according to reports.
The suspects were detained in various parts of Ogun State with three locally made guns, according to Oyeyemi, who also stated that “they have revealed their membership of Aiye and Eiye confraternities.”

Meanwhile, the police commissioner has directed that the special operation be carried out “until all the hoodlums frightening the populace have been flushed out.”
“He also urged parents to call their children and wards to order, warning that anyone caught fomenting disruption under any pretext will be dealt with harshly.”
