The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has received a proposal from Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, regarding the requirement for staff training in emotional intelligence.
The motion was presented to the Director General of NYSC at the Scheme’s National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, according to a press release from Eddy Megwa, the Director, Press and Public Relations of NYSC.
Dr. Ben J. Audu, Director of NDA’s Centre for Study of Leadership and Complex Military Operations, who made the motion’s presentation, stated that the need for training has arisen as a result of the changing difficulties in workplace human resource management.

He urged NYSC to adopt the concept because doing so will increase worker productivity.
Responding, the Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed welcomed the proposal, stating that the training is a sure way of enhancing the capacity of staff to carry out their duties more efficiently.
In order for the idea to succeed, he urged NYSC to adopt it, as doing so would increase worker productivity.
He, therefore, directed the Planning, Research, and Statistics department and the team from NDA to work out modalities for commencing the training.
In response, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the director general, welcomed the suggestion and said that the training is a surefire way to improve staff members’ capacity to perform their jobs more effectively.

As a result, he gave the team from NDA and the Planning, Research, and Statistics department the task of developing the logistics for starting the training.
