1,245 applicants who satisfied the requirements for admission to the Edo State University in Uzairue have been matriculated for the 2023–2024 academic year.
Speaking on Friday at the institution’s 9th matriculation ceremony in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government of Edo State, Vice Chancellor Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor urged the recently admitted students to follow the rules of the university and make responsible contributions to the institution.

He addressed the class of matriculants, saying, “Be diligent in your studies and utilize all of the cutting-edge technology and ICT resources at your disposal to further your education. Set out on an academic journey with diligence, making Edo State University Uzairue’s calm surroundings your ideal home for achievement.
In collaboration with the Edo State Government, he added, the institution is committed to continually provide top-notch facilities for research and instruction.
The vice chancellor (VC) highlighted the amazing growth the university has experienced in the last eight years. From its founding with three faculties and eight programs, the university now has nine faculties and over thirty undergraduate programs, all of which have been accredited and approved by the National Universities Commission and other relevant professional bodies.
Aluyor stated that the College of Post Graduate Studies at the establishment is notable for its prosperous programs, which include PGD, Masters, MBA, MPA, Mphil, and Ph.D. across many faculties.
