Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, has said that no person or organization can thwart his goal of becoming governor.
Shaibu reportedly said as much on Tuesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program.
Because he asked God for guidance before announcing his intention to run for governor, Shaibu claimed that only God had the power to end his dream of becoming governor.
The deputy governor declared that his ongoing conflict with his superior, Governor Godwin Obaseki, would not derail his ambition to take over as governor.
Shaibu claims that the people of the state deserve an original homeboy, which is why they want him to run for governor.
He declared, “My people want me to run for governor.” A true homeboy is what they need.
They recognize that I have expertise having held both executive and legislative roles, and they need someone who can bring governance to their doorstep.
Remember that the deputy governor announced his intention to run for governor during a news conference on Monday in the state capital of Benin.

Since revealing his plan to succeed his principal, Shaibu claimed he has been pressured, ridiculed, and tormented.
According to the deputy governor, he had risked his life for the state’s advancement and expansion and was committed to restoring the South-South state’s glory.
Shaibu said that even though he was being persecuted, Governor Obaseki had not abandoned him. The two had been engaged in a protracted legal battle for Shaibu’s political aspirations for months.
The deputy governor went on to say that despite being put under pressure, he was not crushed and that he had been severely injured but not destroyed.
Following his formal announcement, Shaibu held a ceremony full of party members and well-wishers to officially open his campaign office in Benin City, the state capital.
