According to Alhassan Ado Doguwa, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win back its mandate in the 2027 election.
Recall that Nasiru Gawuna, the APC candidate, fought against incumbent Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in court and during the 2023 election to take over the office.
Doguwa said he was confident in the APC’s unity in the state, saying it would help the party regain power, while speaking at an empowerment program in Kano on Sunday hosted by Senate Deputy President Barau Jibrin.
On election day in 2027, Dogwu predicts that the NNPP will lose Kano before 1 p.m.
By the grace of God, he declared, “With the unity in our party now, we will reclaim our mandate in Kano before 1 p.m. on election day in 2027.” The NNPP is going to lose.
In the meantime, Jibril strengthened party mobilization efforts by donating 1,136 motorbikes and 61 automobiles to grassroots leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State during the ceremony.

The cars will be given to the local government and party zonal chairman, Jibril said during the handover, while the motorbikes were for the ward chairmen.
He also revealed intentions to give university graduates a loan of ₦5 million to help launch small enterprises.
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, reportedly commended Jibril’s donation, saying it would strengthen the party’s mission and enhance the socioeconomic standing of its members, according to NAN.
Ganduje also sent gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of important Kano State APC members to federal and ministerial posts.
