Former Super Eagles players believe Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis deserves a recall to the national squad.
Dennis, who has three international caps for the Eagles, last played for the team in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Freetown on November 17, 2020, as a late substitution for Kelechi Iheanacho in the 82nd minute.

The 24-year-old, who has five goals and five assists in 12 games in the English Premier League this season, is also the third most in-form African striker in the league behind Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, told The PUNCH that the former Club Brugge forward deserves a second chance in the team ahead of the AFCON.
Amuneke stated, “He (Dennis) is a terrific player who deserves a shot in the team.”
“We see his abilities and how well he can be used, but the manager must pick which player fits into his strategy.”

Former Eagles goalie coach Ike Shorunmu also stated that if considered, the former Cologne player will provide solid competition for the team.
“Dennis has demonstrated his class in the Premier League, and he deserves a place in the team.” He must demonstrate to the coach that he is superior to the resources at his disposal. His invitation will give the team a boost.”
