At a Friday night vigil at Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Delta State, armed men assaulted, resulting in the shooting of a pastor and the kidnapping of six attendees.
Before escorting six members of the congregation to an unidentified location, the assailants reportedly shot the pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, and severed two of his fingers, according to witnesses.
The pastor was taken to the hospital, where medical professionals are fighting for his life. No one has been contacted by the kidnappers for ransom after the attack.
Since the event, the kidnappers have not contacted to demand a ransom to free the victims they kidnapped, according to a source, who spoke on Sunday.

A rescue team is actively looking for the casualties in the nearby jungle, according to SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the tragedy.
