Former Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, who is now retired, will receive the title of “Jagunmolu” of Ede land from Timi of Ede land, Oba Munirudeen Lawal.
The Planning Committee’s Chairman, Prof. Tajudeen Akanji, made this announcement in Ile-Ife.
The coronation will take place on June 7 as part of celebrations planned for the Royal Father’s 15th coronation anniversary. Gen. Dambazau, according to Akanji, has distinguished himself as a personality with an exceptional history of service and leadership.
“Due to his significant contributions to the country and his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people, he was selected for this prestigious position.
The appointment of Dambazau as the Jagunmolu of Ede Land “further attests to his esteemed reputation and influence in the community,” he said. “As the Barade of Kano, Dambazau has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service.”
According to NAN, the Timi of Ede land nomination was made public on January 15, 2008.
