COVID-19: Nigeria records one death and 86 new infections on Sunday

On Sunday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported one death and 86 new infections from seven states.

On Monday morning, the NCDC announced this in its daily COVID-19 report.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the 86 additional cases reported on Friday represented a decrease from the 116 cases reported the previous day in the country.

According to the Nigerian Public Health Institute, the death toll has risen to 2,906, with a total of 212,713 infections confirmed across the country.

According to the report, 204,379 COVID-19 patients in the country have recovered and been discharged.

According to the report, the 86 new cases were reported from seven states: Kaduna (41), Lagos (24), Osun (10), Bauchi (6), Ekiti (2), Ondo (2), and Edo (2). (1).

According to the NCDC, there are currently 5,428 active coronavirus cases in the country, with a total of 3,340,313 blood samples tested since the pandemic began.

It went on to say that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) activated at Level 2 has continued to coordinate the national response efforts.
