Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, submitted his proposed cabinet to the Lagos State House of Assembly on Friday for approval.
According to Gboyega Akosile, the governor’s chief press secretary, who tweeted on Friday, 30% of the commissioner nominees are women, while the remaining candidates are young people, technocrats, and politicians.
The list included a few members of the governor’s cabinet from his first time in office, but not all of them.
Former cabinet members who made the list include Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, former commissioner for information and strategy; Mr. Sam Egube, former commissioner for budget and economic planning; Prof. Akin Abayomi, former commissioner for health; Aramide Adeyooye, former special adviser to the governor on works and infrastructure; and Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, former commissioner for education.

Sanwo-Olu honours Akeredolu at the age of 67.
Rabiu Olowo, the former commissioner of finance, Moyosore Onigbanjo, the former commissioner for justice and attorney general of the state, and Yetunde Arobieke, the former commissioner for wealth creation, are among the previous cabinet members that Governor Sanwo-Olu dismissed.
