Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai has bagged another meritorious award of Doctorate degree in Leadership and Peace at the just concluded 3rd convocation ceremony of Kaduna State University which held in the state capital on Saturday.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Muhammad Tanko, the revered Army Chief deserved the honour owing to his immense contribution in the promotion of peace and security in country.
Prof Tanko noted that the exemplary leadership roles and commitments of Gen Buratai is second to none while commending the reputed Army General for his proactive approach in respect to the the various counter insurgency operations in the North East.
In his remarks, the recipient, Gen Tukur Buratai thanked members of the University board for identifying his contribution and passionate roles in his pursuits for peace and security in Nigeria.
He reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army in curbing the menace of the almost defeated insurgents while thanking the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the needed logistics in support of the troops.
Three other personalities; Former Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi and a former Governor of Kaduna state, Dr Ahmed Makarfi were also honoured.
The event had in attendance the visitor to the University and governor of the state, Mall Nasir El-Rufai, graduating students, principal staff officers from the Nigerian Army as well as family and friends of the recipients.
