Protesters at the #EndBadGovernance protests have been urged to refrain from expressing their plights with anger and continue making the protests peaceful.
The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Alfred Martins, said protests were fundamental rights of Nigerians to express their grievances and as well draw the attention of the government to cogent matters.
He added that the protesters should not allow the exercise to be hijacked by mischief makers and criminals whose intention is to turn the lawful activity into crime.
In a statement by the Director of Social Communications for the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Anthony Godonu, Martins expressed the need for the protest as the multidimensional poverty and hunger in the country had skyrocketed.
He, however, called on political leaders across all tiers of government to address the root causes of the ongoing protests, and address the demands of the protesters, cautioning against all forms of ethnic bigotry.
