CEIEC seeks collaboration with Army to manufacture military electronic gadgets

The China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), has sought partnership with the Nigerian Army for manufacturing military electronic warfare to enhance efficiency in professional service delivery.

The Manager, Department of African Market, Mr. Eric Zhang made this known when he led the two man delegation to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, his delegation was in the country to introduce the company to the Chief of Army Staff and the Army as well as intimate him of the things the company produces that could be beneficial to the military.

Mr. Zhang reechoed that the Chinese military industry has a long existing history in cooperation with Nigeria services and expressed delight in seeing

Zhang explained that CEIEC which is 100 percent owned by China represent the military and defence industries in China.

According to him, his company will offer to produce electronics for Nigeria’s National Defence industry including command and control system,electronic warfare system, communication system used for defence purposes, among others.

He further maintained that CEIEC is a total supplier of all defence electronic warfare for over 30 countries all over the world, including some African countries.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai said the future of the Nigerian Army was to develop a capacity to be able to produce in the country this reducing the time involved in the processes of importing procedure as well as cutting down the cost.

Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Army, Lt. Gen. Lamido Adeosun, Buratai acknowledged the good relationship that existed between the both countries over the years. He said China has assisted Nigeria in areas of construction, civil engineering and all other technical areas.

Buratai further said there was already arrangement for the sell and purchase of military equipment directly from China for Arm forces of Nigeria.

He however said, the cooperation between the both countries had stood the test of time, expressed hope that it will continue to wax stronger as both countries will continue to relate and remaining relevant in the committee of nations.
