After returning from a medical trip overseas, Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni has assumed leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC.

Mr Buni urged all party members to be calm and law-abiding, according to Mr Mohammed.
“Forget about the current happenings in the party and focus on a good Convention.”
“The party’s success remains important, and every member’s support is required.”
“As we approach the National Convention, the party will need the assistance of every stakeholder and member to succeed,” he stated. “As democrats and devoted party members, we should avoid matters that could divert our attention away from the path of victory,” he said.
Mr Buni stated that holding grudges against those involved in recent events in the party was a waste of time, and that grudges were damaging to a party’s success.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for resolving a recent issue within the party amicably.
“We appreciate Mr President’s good leadership role in resolving recent events to maintain the APC unified and strong,” he said.

Mr Buni stated that all measures taken by the APC CECPC under the acting chairman, Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger, remained legitimate and binding.
“I dutifully transferred power to His Excellency Muhammed Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State.”
“As a result, all committee acts and measures done under his leadership as interim chairman remain legitimate and obligatory,” he stated.
