President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Dr. Charles Akindiji Akinola, a development expert, scholar, and author, on his 65th birthday.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari expressed his joy with Akinola’s family and friends on the occasion of years of research on the growth of public and private institutions, as well as nations.
He congratulated the scholar, whose contributions to development include shaping public policy, private sector consulting, and civil society engagements, and who has worked with state governments, federal government agencies, and multilateral institutions such as the World Bank, USAID, the UK Department for International Development, and the Ford Foundation.

“As the development expert turns 65, the President believes his rich pedigree in the private and public sectors will remain relevant, especially as the world focuses more on rethinking and re-jigging development policies to favor inclusiveness and ownership.
“President Buhari prays for Dr. Akinola’s long life, good health, and strength as he serves his state, Osun, and the country,” the statement continued.
