The election of Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party (LP) to the House of Representatives as a member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency has been declared invalid by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which is based in Asaba, Delta State. The Sun Newspaper reports that the tribunal determined on Monday, July 24, that Okolie was not properly supported by the LP because, as of May 28, 2022, when the primary was allegedly held, he was not a party member.
Ndudi Elumelu, former reps minority leader wins at tribunal Per PM News, the tribunal declared the runner-up in the February 25, 2023, national assembly election, Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner.
Elumelu who is the immediate past minority leader of the house of representatives, had filed his petition, asking the tribunal to disqualify Okolie who was proclaimed the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
