Breaking: Tinubu urged Senate to confirm his nominees for appointment as Service Chiefs

FCT, Abuja – On Tuesday, July 11, President Bola Tinubu urged the Senate to confirm his nominees for appointment as Service Chiefs. These nominations were made earlier this month. In the course of the plenary session, the letter of request written by Tinubu was read out loud by Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate.
The complete roster of service chiefs who are awaiting confirmation According to a report from The Nation, the candidates for screening and confirmation by the Senate as Chiefs of Service are as follows: Major General Christopher Musa will serve as Chief of Defense Staff; Major Taoreed Lagbaja will serve as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla will serve as Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar will serve as Chief of Air Staff.
According to Akpabio, the relevant Senate standing committees have not yet been established, so the committee of the whole Senate will be in charge of conducting background checks on the prospective service chiefs. On Monday, June 19, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the appointment of new military service chiefs, following the dismissal of the previous leaders. Additionally, more than one hundred military generals left their posts as a result of the unprecedented shake-up. Rahman, Abdulaziz, Masari and 17 New Aides Tinubu has chosen to appoint him. In other news, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given jobs to twenty new aides, all of whom will remain in their positions for the next four years. This list is comprised of highly regarded professionals who have worked in a variety of economic fields and have impressive portfolios. Big names like Tunde Rahman, O’tega Ogra, Ibrahim Masari, and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz made up the 20-man list.
In a similar manner, President Bola Tinubu announced the appointment of two new appointees to the list of appointments he had already made in the scant two months since he took office. On social media, Jubril Gawat, who formerly served as an aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, revealed that President Tinubu appointed Olusegun Dada to the position of special assistant. Bashir Ahmed, a former aide to the former President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed that President Tinubu appointed Abdulaziz Abdulaziz to the position of special assistant on print media.
