Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will speak to the country via national broadcast on the worsening circumstances in Rivers State.

The announcement coincides with mounting worries about recent pipeline disasters and their possible effects on the environment, the oil and gas sector, and security.
Starting at 7 PM, the presidential broadcast will be televised live by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the National Television Authority (NTA). All radio and television stations nationwide have been asked to connect to the broadcast in order to guarantee widespread coverage.

The occurrences are being looked at by security services, and officials have already detained people to question them.
