Authorities in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau imposed a 24-hour curfew in the council area on Sunday night.
A 24-hour curfew has been imposed in the Mangu Local Government Area, according to Markus Artu, chairman of the LGA’s interim management committee, who made the announcement in a statement on Sunday night. There will therefore be no vehicular movement of any kind.
Additionally, until further notice, no motorcycle movement is permitted. The only people permitted to move are security personnel and employees performing necessary tasks.
It was discovered that the declaration of the curfew came after new terrorist incursions into some local communities.

The precise number of fatalities reported in the affected communities could not be verified at the time this report was being written, but sources claimed that the terrorists invaded about four communities in the LGA, including Mangu town, and killed several people while also burning down several homes.
The Mangu South constituency representative, Bala Fwangji, confirmed the development to our correspondent on the phone on Sunday night.
“All I can tell you is that Mangu has been declared to be at war with our people,” the lawmaker said. Just about everywhere you look, they are killing and attacking our people. The attacks began in the Bwai community today before moving to Mangu town and now reaching Sabon Gari. Really, our people need assistance. The Local Government Authority has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the LGA in order to control the situation.
Alabo Alfred, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, was unavailable when contacted about the recent attacks in Mangu communities, but the police command had earlier sent its mobile units to the problematic LGA and other regions of the state in an effort to shield the populace from ongoing terrorist attacks.
