Chijioke Edeoga has been recognized by the Supreme Court as the Labour Party’s legitimate candidate for governor of Enugu State.
Everestus Nnaji contested Edeoga’s candidacy.
Earlier, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered a new election, but Edeoga went further and appealed the decision.

After receiving a favorable ruling, Nnaji appealed to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court’s decision on Monday favored Edeoga.
The Court of Appeal’s Abuja Division’s earlier decision naming Edeoga as the legitimate Labour Party Governorship Candidate was upheld by the Supreme Court.

It described Nnaji (Odengene) as a meddlesome interloper who shouldn’t have gone to court in first place, since he didn’t participate in the Labour Party Governorship Primaries in the first place.
