NAFDAC has approved two more COVID-19 vaccines for use in Nigeria.
Moderna and Sputnik were approved for emergency use.
He made the announcement at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
In spite of the WHO’s lack of approval for the Sputnik vaccine, Adeyeye explained that NAFDAC’s independent review found that the benefits outweighed the risks.
Earlier this month, Adeyeye said the WHO is screening the agency for a permit to manufacture COVID-19 vaccines in Nigeria.

Adeyeye, represented by Mr Fori Tatama, Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, pledged that NAFDAC takes health, safety, and environmental issues seriously.
“The WHO is auditing NAFDAC, which will allow the country to begin manufacturing vaccines,” she said.
