Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, the renowned Nigerian statesman and head of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), died at the age of 97.
In a statement signed by Mr. Penawei Clark for the children and Prof. C. C. Clark for the family, Clark’s passing was announced.
Clark died on Monday, February 17, 2025, the announcement said.

“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, February 17, 2025,” the statement says.
“Your prayers are greatly appreciated at this time by the family.” The family will make more announcements later.
Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization head and elder statesman, was reported deceased a few days prior to the most recent catastrophe.
Adebanjo passed away at the age of 96 on Friday morning.
