Hundreds of supporters of Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, have demonstrated in Port Harcourt and called for his reinstatement.
According to information obtained, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the demonstrators began their march from Aggrey Road in Old Port Harcourt Township.
Punch claims that the black-clad demonstrators held signs that read, among other things, “Together we stand for Governor Sim Fubara,” “We want back our Governor, we all voted for,” and “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People.”

This is the most recent in a string of pro- and anti-protests that have shook Rivers State since March 18, when President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and members of the state’s House of Assembly and declared a State of Emergency.
