Nigerians have flocked to the streets of Lagos to protest the economic hardships under the current government, which is led by President Bola Tinubu, as part of the June 12 Democracy Day celebration.
The demonstrators, who assembled near the Ikeja Underbridge, are demanding that certain policies put in place by the current government be reversed.
According to reports, the demonstrators were seen waving placards with a variety of inscriptions, such as “Reverse Electricity Tariff Hike” and “No one deserves a death sentence for protesting against hunger,” among others, even though law enforcement officers were present.

As it commemorates Democracy Day, it was understood that demonstrators opposing bad governance had previously taken over the streets of Ikeja in Lagos State to express their displeasure with the country’s current situation.
