Breaking: Gunmen kidnap Rivers Assembly candidate just days before election, causing anxiety

Chukwudi Ogbonna, the candidate for the Accord Party in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni sin Local Government Area Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly election that will take place on March 18, has been kidnapped by armed individuals. It was reported that Mr. Ogbonna was kidnapped on Monday night, March 13, while he was driving in his car at Rumuigbo, which is located close to Port Harcourt. The gunmen reportedly forced him to stop and then whisked him away with his car.
On Tuesday morning, March 14, Ifeaka Nwakiri, the candidate’s cousin brother, confirmed the incident.
