Ashige, a Migili-speaking neighborhood in Nasarawa State’s Lafia Local Government Area, was devastated on Tuesday night when unidentified gunmen broke into the Akunza village during a customary wedding celebration.
It was discovered that the incident allegedly happened during the wedding celebrations, causing locals to panic and mourning to run for their lives.
At least three persons were killed in the attack, according to a community youth leader who confirmed the incident to Daily Post. Several others were injured to varied degrees.
Women and children were among those hurt, he revealed, and they are presently being treated at a hospital.
Details on the assault’s motivation are still unknown as of the filing of this report.
