Breaking: Fayemi believes that the media should hold the government accountable for misusing power

On Monday, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi urged Nigerian journalists to hold the government accountable for any abuse of power.

Fayemi made the announcement during the 60th convocation lecture of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), which was titled “Media, Security, and Nation Building.”

The governor believes that the media can aid in the development of the country by holding every government official accountable for any abuse of power.
“The media should hold the government accountable for power abuse,” Fayemi said.

While speaking about the history of the Nigerian press, he also stated that democracy would not have been possible without the media.
